Thailand (formerly Siam) is an independent country that lies in the heart of Southeast Asia, making it a wonderful hub for missions work to reach out into all of Southeast Asia. It is bordered to the northwest by Myanmar (Burma), to the northeast by Laos, to the southeast by Cambodia, and to the south by Malaysia.

Thailand is ruled by King Maha Vajiralongkorn, the tenth king of the House of Chakri. He has reigned since 2016. We are thankful that we have continued freedom to go to church and preach the Gospel in Thailand under his reign.

As such, a person must never sit with their feet pointing to a statue in a temple or at some other person. It is the equivalent of pointing your middle finger at someone. This is why they rarely cross their feet when sitting in a chair and why they tuck their feet underneath their folded legs when sitting on the ground.
