1. We must realize we are a sinner.
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

Every single person on earth has done at least one thing wrong. Just like a piece of cloth that is mostly clean with only one spot
that won't come out is now label "stained," that one sin we committed now labels us a sinner no matter how clean the rest of
our life has been.
2. Because we are all sinners, we all fall short.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Many people think they will go to heaven because they have lived a good life. Perhaps, they treat all of their neighbors fairly.
Maybe they volunteer for charity work and have never broken the law. Maybe they were even baptized or go to church regularly.
These are all good things, but God’s Word says that no one can live up to God’s standard of righteousness.

3. The payment for sin is death.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Sin causes a separation between us and God. God's desire has always been to have fellowship with mankind throughout their life
on earth and throughout eternity. He wants everyone to live with Him in Heaven, but our sin keeps us from entering Heaven's
gates. In fact, the death that this verse is talking about is not just when we physically die and are placed into the grave, but it is
talking about an eternal separation from God in a lake of fire called Hell. God made a provision for us to be able to spend eternity
with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

4. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins.

Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

We, as sinners, need a Savior to save us from having to spend eternity in Hell because of our sins. Jesus is that Savior. He left his
throne in Heaven over 2,000 years ago. He was born of a virgin and spent 33 years on this earth giving us the perfect example of
how to live our lives while on earth. When the time came He was crucified not for any wrongdoing on His part, but to pay for the
sins of mankind in order that we might be able to live with Him in Heaven for eternity.

5. Jesus not only died for our sins, but He rose from the grave proving He had power over death and hell.

John 11: 25,26 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he
live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"

6. I can be justified by trusting Jesus as my Savior.

Romans 5:9 "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."
An easy explanation of the word "justified" is "Just as if I never sinned." When we put our trust in Jesus and what He did for us on
the cross, we are now justified. That means when God looks at us, He does not see our sin because it has already been paid for,
and we are now clothed with Christ's righteousness. We are saved from God's wrath.
7. Eternal life is a gift from God and can easily be accepted by faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works lest any
man should boast.”

A gift by definition is something that is given to you for free. If you have to pay for it or work for it, it is not a gift. Many religions
offer up different ways you can get to Heaven: go to church faithfully, give money to the church, keep the 10 commandments, live
simply, do good works, etc. These are all good things we should emulate while living on earth, but not one of these things can
erase my sins and gain me entrance into Heaven. If they could, we would be trusting in ourselves and have cause for boasting.
8. All you have to do is confess and believe.

Romans 10:9-12 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made
unto salvation."

a. Confess - admit your sins to God and your need for a Savior.
b. Believe - believe that Jesus died to pay for your sins, that He was buried and rose from the grave, and that He has the power to
save you.

9. God's free gift of salvation is for anyone.

Romans 10: 13 "For the scripture saith, Whosever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the
Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved."
God wants everyone to come to Him for salvation. There is no one who has sinned too much that He cannot forgive them if they
simply ask. The Bible says we accept the gift of eternal life not with our hands but with our mouth and our heart.
If you have never placed your trust in Jesus Christ, don't hesitate. Do it today. Simply pray and talk to the Lord. Ask Him to forgive
you for your sins. Tell Him you believe He is the Son of God, that you believe He died on the cross to pay for your sins, that you
believe He rose from the grave after three days in power and victory over death and Hell, and that you believe if you put your
trust in Him, He can give you the gift of eternal life and take you to Heaven when you die.
He is waiting to hear from you. What are you waiting for?

10. Once you've accepted Jesus as you Savior, you are no longer condemned to Hell.

Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the
Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."
